R.I.P. To THE Greatest

Overwhelmed with tears, sorrow, and mixed emotions, all America tuned in this past Saturday to watch the four hour service of Whitney Houston's funeral. The funeral was held in Newark, N.J. at the New Hope Baptist Church where celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry, Alicia Keys, and many more were joined with friends and family members of the singer to mourn the loss of one of music's greatest influences. The Queen of R&B past away the Saturday previous to her funeral (February 11, 2012). There has been several speculations relating to the singer's cause of the death. Many are stating that it was caused by prescription drug and alcohol abuse, while others are speculating that she drowned in her bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Baby Blues

Almost a month after having baby Blue Ivy Carter, Beyoncé was spotted wearing a sexy tight red rust-colored dress by Temperley line paired with Christian Louboutin heels.  But, it wasn’t the dress that everyone was fascinated with, it was her post-baby figure.  After one month Beyoncé is practically back to her original size.  How did she do it?... The singer has not released her baby weight loss tactics or whether she even had any. Its A Forever Lasting Celebration!!!

There is always that one individual, that one voice, that one artist, that sets the stage for their culture/music genre. For Rock, there was ‘The Beatles’, for Pop ‘Michael Jackson’, and R&B ‘Bobby Brown’. Bob Marley, set the stage for Reggie artist with his the deep, meaningful and influential messages portrayed through his lyrics. Super Bowl Half-time of Have Not??

Lasting a memorable twelve minutes, Madonna’s half-time performance during the Super Bowl did not just leave an iconic lasting impression, but it also left a slightly bad taste in the mouths of few. Apparently, someone forgot to mention to M.I.A. that the performance would be live; although, it’s safe to say that there were no body parts exposed during the performance. Aside from M.I.A. flipping birds in February (which they later had to apologize for) with Madonna and Nicki Minaj, the half-time performance has been receiving positive feedback.  (Watch Video) Read more

Mr. Soul Train’s Soul Has Departed Us

Known for being the founder/creator/writer/producer/host of ‘Soul Train’, Don Cornelius was found dead in his L.A. home earlier this month. Don Cornelius was 75 years old, and the cause of death, to many was a shocker. Mr. Cornelius was found with a gunshot wound to his head. The violent act was later on confirmed as an act of suicide. Prior to this, it was confirmed that Mr. Soul himself was overwhelmed with health problem, it was not specified what problems those were or whether these terminal issue influenced his act of suicide, but then again who knows. Don Cornelius was the host of the iconic show ‘Soul Train’ for over two decades. Known for his emphasis slogan, “Love, Peace, and Soooouuuulll”, Mr. Cornelius impacted the entire country with soul music and entertainment. If it had not been for Mr. Soul Train himself, where would soul music be today? Everyone from young to old has grown up watching ‘Soul Train’, and watched just about everyone perform from Gladys Knight and the Pips, Jackson 5, to Aretha Franklin, and the list continues on for decades. I know we can all agree that when ‘Soul Train’ came on, all America was tuned in. What are some of your favorite ‘Soul Train’ memories??
